My name is Steve Valencia, Broker for Athena Insurance and Financial Services and I welcome those of you who value a wise, experienced and dedicated advisor. I sometimes worry about how the industry is acting when it reaches out for your business. So please allow me to share with you my pet-pieve about Television Commercials. First, I, like many of you, get "sick-and-tied" of the same Companies "pounding" the same Mascots and information to us over and over again. There "Themes" are very similar. See how much money we can save you! You may save hundreds over.... your current carrier. Do you really trust a reptile, cartoon or caveman? Come one...get real! The lure! The lure that appeals the most to us... "lay people" is the concept of saving money, the low down payment and how fast our claims will be handled. Why? It gets us motivated to pick up the phone or go online. Ever heard of the idiom.. "Penny wise and Pound Foolish?" I guess what bothers me the most about some Commercials is the fact that much of the industry is trying to break the ties between a beneficial relationship with you and your trusted advisors. Insurance Agents, Insurance Brokers and even Lawyers. Why? For the same reason that has motivated mankind since the beginning of age. "Profit" Some may say greed. And yet others may justify it as the necessity to remain competitive in today's changing world. For whatever their reasons.... our mission is to help you make a good decision. Have you ever heard to the Ben Franklin "T" ? When you shop and compare it should look something like this.
